1. lesson schedule

  • Lessons are held weekly at a consistent day and time.

  • The Studio operates year-round.

  • You do not pay for holidays for which The Studio is closed.

2. attendance & cancellations

  • Regular attendance is expected. If a student must miss a lesson, 24 hour notice is required.

  • Two make-up lessons per term are allowed, with proper notice.

  • No-shows or last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) are not eligible for make-ups or credits.

  • If the instructor must cancel, a make-up or credit will be arranged.

3. tuition & payment

  • Tuition is paid monthly and is due on the first lesson of the payment period.

  • Tuition holds your lesson day/time and is non-refundable.

  • Accepted payment methods: CASH ONLY - A receipt will be provided.

4. missed lessons & make-ups

  • Make-up lessons are offered as a courtesy and are not guaranteed.

  • Students who give proper notice (at least 24 hours) may request a make-up if there is availability.

  • Make-ups do not roll over into the next term or next month.

5. practice expectations

  • Consistent, focused practice is essential for progress.

  • Recommended practice time:

    • Ages 5–7: 10–20 minutes/day

    • Ages 8–12: 20–30 minutes/day

    • Teens & Adults: 30+ minutes/day

  • Students should complete all assignments and bring necessary books/materials to each lesson.

6. materials & supplies

  • Students are responsible for purchasing their own books and materials.

  • The instructor will recommend specific method books, theory books, or sheet music based on the student’s level.

7. parental involvement (for younger students)

  • A parent or adult sibling/neighbor must attend all lessons with students under age 18.

  • No Exceptions.

  • Please ensure your child is present in the lesson space on time and is prepared for each lesson.

  • Please silence phones/tablets/televisions/radios during lessons.

8. recitals & performance opportunities

  • Students are strongly encouraged to participate in studio recitals held twice per year.

  • Your recital performance holds your spot in The Studio for the next term.

  • Other opportunities such as exams, competitions, or festivals may be available.

9. termination policy

  • Lessons may be discontinued at any time in person or by phone, text, or email. No refunds.

  • The instructor reserves the right to end lessons at any time due to repeated absences, lack of payment, behavioral issues, or lack of support from parent.

10. communication

  • The best way to reach the instructor is text or email.

  • Studio updates, lesson reminders, and calendar changes will be sent via text or email.
